The study

Safe dilution, demonstrated under realistic traffic loading.

Challenge

The proposed mechanical ventilation system required independent verification across two basement levels, with particular attention to breathing-zone exposure, local accumulation and extended operation.

Method

A full three-dimensional transient model represented supply and exhaust systems, vehicle emission profiles and monitored breathing-zone planes. Performance was assessed against AS 1668.2:2012, AS 1668.2:2024 and NCC requirements.

Outcome

The design maintained compliant concentrations, achieved uniform distribution and showed no persistent stagnation or high-risk CO regions.
